EMPLOYMENT opportunity

 

  1.  Background

The Government of the Republic of Uganda received support from the International Development Association of the World Bank towards the Competitiveness and Enterprise Development Project – Land Component (CEDP AF - LC) under the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development.

 

The Ministry wishes to invite suitably qualified Ugandan citizens (candidates) to fill the positions of: Surveyor, Cartographer, Physical Planner, Land Officer, Registrar of Titles, Data Entry Clerk, Records Officer, Administrative Assistant and Information Technology Officer. Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans in possession of an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Science; or Records Management from a recognized University / Institution.
Working Experience
Working experience of at least one (1) year in Records Management.
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Senior Records Officer for performing the following duties:-

a)     To receive, organise and describe records of Survey, Mapping, Physical Planning, Land Administration and Registration according to the standards and guidelines;

b)     To implement records retention and disposal schedules;

c)     To provide electronic records management services;

d)     To maintain registries and records centers according to the established standards;

e)     To coordinate the transfer of semi-current records to the strong room;

f)      To manage and store records in the strong room;

g)     To provide technical support to the team;

h)     To document and record poor quality records by village and forward it to the Supervisor;

i)      Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
